Climate Is Changing, when will you?

We are in the middle of a mass extinction, and as superpowers and governments refuse to remove their ignorant facade, our world falls deeper into the havoc of destruction and annihilation, we cannot revive what we have lost, but we still have time for a new beginning.

Plastic Pollution

The risk that micro plastics pose, combined without annual, ‘visible’ plastic pollution exemplifies the severity of our self-destructive behavior, according to world economic forum By 2050, plastic in the oceans will outweigh fish,

Can’t Breath?

2019 has been the worst year for Air Pollution, amidst disastrous calamities such as the Amazon Rain forest fires, and the Australian wild forest fires the Carbon Dioxide emissions reached 411.85 ppm

Self Destruction

Climate change has put the life of millions of organisms including ‘humans’ in danger, children are particularly at risk

I don’t want you to be hopeful, I want you to panic as if your house was on fire

Greta thunburg

Standing amidst the remnants of my dreams, I regret to inform you that your smoke blurs my vision, the collateral damage on the way of your development has taken away my right to breathe.

Most of us, live in the complete comfort of our homes, oblivious to the damage that our everyday activities cause, and how the consequences of our actions affect not only our little lives but countless species beyond anything we have ever known, from the insect apocalypse to endangered turtles, how can you live with the weight of the destruction that you have caused?

Every week, we’re seeing new and undeniable climate events, evidence that accelerated climate change is here now. We know that droughts are intensifying, our oceans are warming and acidifying We are seeing extreme weather events, increased temperatures, and the West Antarctic and Greenland ice-sheets melting at unprecedented rates, decades ahead of scientific projections. Our sources of Freshwater are being destroyed, Nearly 40% of the world lives in acute water crises.

If you’re wondering the role the everyday activities of normal people in the destructive havoc of climate change, there are various aspects you need to consider.

Plastic Pollution

Microplastics, small pieces of plastic barely 5mm long, have become a problem bigger than you’d expect…

Microplastics are present in a variety of products, from cosmetics to synthetic clothing to plastic bags and bottles. these microplastics, hardly visible to the naked eye, flow straight from the bathroom drain into the sewer system. Wastewater treatment plants are not designed to filter them out; that is how microplastics contribute to the ‘Plastic Soup’ swirling around in our oceans.

Sea animals absorb or eat microplastics; these particles can then be passed along the marine food chain. Since humans are ultimately at the top of this food chain, it is likely that we also ingest microplastics. Microplastics are not biodegradable and once they enter the (marine) environment, they are almost impossible to remove, already 51 TRILLION microplastics are there in our oceans!

Using body washes or cosmetics that contain microplastics can put the ocean, ourselves, and our children at risk!

A single tube of face wash can contain up to 360,000 of these tiny plastic spheres. That means that once we have finished washing our faces or brushing our teeth, we unwittingly release thousands of pieces of plastic into our environment,

The Growing Sea Of E-waste

According to the United Nations, every year 40 Million tons of Electronic waste is produces, and is left untreated and scathingly for the poor to scavenge.

Most of the E- waste from Europe and Asia ends up in Ghana, where the toxic metals have caused up strike in mortality rates, and cancer.

By disposing our e-waste responsibly we can save millions of young lives.

Role Of Leading Multi National Companies

The list of destruction caused by MNC’s is insurmountable and uncontrolled, and seems to be growing despite the resistance and boycott by responsible inhabitants of the world.

Companies like Nestle, P&G and Unilever are often on the forefront, for example, Nestle and P&G recently caused the destruction of Sumatra’s last tract of rain forest known for it’s rich diversity in both flora and fauna, and have caused the blatant extinction of Sumatran Rhinos, but who will call then out? The ‘leaders’ of our world remain silent and continue to ignore the constant please and justifications of science and teenagers.

It may seem as if we’re helpless against these powerful MN C’s but trust me when I state there is so much we can do, if only we change our consumer behavior and refuse to accept what these companies are offering us, they will be forced to change to more sustainable and safe production habits, our voice and choice matters.

A Ray Of Hope

As the environment continues to deteriorate massive backlash from across the world is evident, and organisations such as Greenpeace, are working tirelessly to stop these destructive monsters from destroying what little we’re left with.
